Travelling In the Early Days
We have people who have told us about their early travels. With 30 plus experience in this business, we actually remember. When we say “we”, we speak to at least three of us. Storage was not as accommodating as it is today. One of us remembers a father packing up for a wife, four young girls, and an aunt to travel across the country in a station wagon. Not much room for comfort, no videos, no Smartphones, not much for any luxury, other than singing songs you knew, a tape player that had batteries, and long hours of scenery and stopping off at tourist spots. How times change.
This picture is nothing like what some of the roofs of travelling cars looked like. Trust us.
To the younger generation, be thankful. To the older, be thankful for the memories and the gratefulness we have that we don’t have to tie up (no bungy cords then) to the roof all the luggage we used to have to carry. 🙂

1970 peugeot wagon white – Travelled Through Europe for 4 Years!
We have a friend who told us about their journey with the 1970 peugeot wagon white. We again had a hard time finding one. It was white. We got some pictures, but none were seemingly like the one our friend remembers. It drove through Greece, Turkey, Yugoslavia (then), Bulgaria, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Scotland, Ireland, England, and some. After it returned to Canada, it was retired. Our friend remembers the time with the car, the long drives in the back of the wagon, and the fact that it wasn’t just a car anymore. It was a memory that when put in the junkyard, drove by it a couple of times before it was taken away and as a child cried to see it go. The new car would never replaced those memories. Songs sung, family together, the amazing stops along the way. Cars, like animals, become one with you for some. They hold the memories of fun times, of adventures, of times of togetherness. Never to be able to be replaced by another.
